Job Scope: 

We are seeking a Senior SAP Customer Service / IS-U Developer with 15+ years of experience delivering enterprise-scale SAP implementations in the utilities sector, including work with Singapore and regional regulators.

The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on SAP Customer Service / IS-U development expertise, excellent techno-functional understanding, and a proven track record in complex, multi-year transformation programmes (e.g. S/4HANA, market liberalisation, regulatory-driven change).

Key Responsibilities: 

SAP Customer Service & IS-U Development

  • Design, develop, and enhance SAP IS-U / Customer Service solutions across:
  • Customer Master & Business Partner
  • Contract & account management
  • Service orders, move-in / move-out
  • Billing, invoicing, and customer interactions
  • Deliver custom ABAP developments including:
  • Reports, enhancements, user exits, BADIs
  • Interfaces (IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, APIs)
  • Forms (Adobe / SmartForms)

    Large-Scale Transformation Delivery

    • Contribute to complex SAP transformation programmes, including:
    • ECC to S/4HANA
    • Utilities market restructuring / liberalisation
    • Regulatory-mandated system changes
  • Work across multiple systems and vendors in tightly governed environments
  • Support cutover, data migration, retrofit, and regression testing

    Integration & Ecosystem

    • Develop and support integrations with:
    • MDM / MDMS
    • IDEX / MPM / market messaging platforms
    • CRM, contact centre, and external market systems
  • Collaborate with SAP PI/PO or CPI teams on interface design and troubleshooting

    Regulatory & Utilities Domain Expertise

    • Ensure solutions comply with utilities regulatory frameworks, including:
    • Singapore and regional market rules
    • Retail competition, settlement, and metering processes
  • Translate regulatory and policy requirements into robust SAP technical solutions
  • Support audits, compliance checks, and regulator engagements

    Stakeholder & Delivery Leadership

    • Work closely with:
    • Business users
    • Architects and functional consultants
    • System integrators and vendors
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior developers
  • Support UAT, production issues, and continuous improvement initiatives

    Job Qualifications: 

    Core Experience

    • 15+ years of SAP development experience with expertise in SAP IS-U / SAP Customer Service
    • Extensive experience in utilities (electricity, gas, water) environments
    • Proven delivery in large-scale, complex SAP transformation projects

    Technical Skills

    • ABAP / ABAP OO
    • BAPIs, IDocs, RFCs, Web Services
    • Enhancements, BADIs, user exits
    • SAP integration patterns (PI/PO, CPI)
    • S/4HANA exposure 

    Domain & Regulatory Knowledge

    • Deep understanding of utilities customer lifecycle
    • Experience working with:
    • Singapore utilities
    • Regional utilities
    • Regulatory bodies / market operators
  • Familiarity with market processes such as:
  • Customer switching
  • Metering & settlement
  • Market communications and timelines
